SERVICE SELECTION BOARD (SSB)
SSB interviews are conducted by various Service Selection Board of Indian Army, Navy and by Air Force . These SSB boards selects candidates for commissioned officer posts in Inadian Armed Forces through SSB interviews. Thus, if you want to become an officer in Indian Army, Air Force or Navy, you must qualify the SSB interview. SSB interview is conducted for five days to test all Officer Like Qualities in candidates. It is divided in two parts those are as follows :-
(a) Psychological test of SSB interview (b) GTO (Group Testing Officer) of SSB interview 1. Psychological tests of SSB interviewsTrained SSB psychologist officers will organize the psychology tests of SSB and assess candidates according to their best judgement. Following are the various psychology tests conducted in SSB interviews. (a) Intelligence or OIR Test (b) Picture Perception & Description Test (PPDT) (c) Personal Information Questionnaire (PIQ) (d) Thematic Apperception Test (TAT) (e) Word Association Test (WAT) (f) Situation Reaction Test (SRT) (g) Self Description Test (SD) (h) Personal Interview (PI) (j) Pilot Battery Aptitude Test (PABT) (k) Conference 2. Group Testing Officer (GTO) tests of SSB interviewsGroup Testing Officer or GTO is responsible to conduct all GTO tests which are of outdoor and indoor nature. Following tests of SSB interviews fall under GTO tests:- (a) Group Discussion (GD) (b) Military Planning Exercise (MPE) (c) Lectures (d) Progressive Group Task (PGT) (e) Inter group Obstacle Race or Snake Race (f) Half Group Task (HGT) (g) Command Task (h) Individual Obstacles (i) Full/Final Group Task (FGT) 3. So these were various psychology and GTO tests of SSB interviews. Day wise SSB interview tests breakdown Complete SSB interview goes on for five to six days depending upon the type of SSB interview.
