UPSC has released notification CDS (II) Examination 2014 on 19/07/2014 and last date of ubmision of application online is 18/08/2014. Since CDS Exam is the second major exam for the recruiting of Officer in Indian Armed Forces after NDA conducted by UPSC. So all eligible candidates have a golden chance to cash it. Written exam will be conducted by UPSC on 20/10/2014 at the various cantres located almost at very state of India. Hence only have nearly two month for the prepration of written examination. Here we are giving some tips for the prepration of written examination which will help you to increase your chances of qualifying written examination.
TIPS FOR THE PREPRATION : -
(a) BASIC TIPS
- In order to prepare for UPSC CDS Exam, candidates must plan a time table or schedule and you have to follow it strictly.
- You have to clearly understand the latest exam pattern and syllabus of the Combined Defence Services Examination.
- As the question paper consist the whole paper hence no topic can be left.
- Candidates must go through last 10 years question papers available for the UPSC CDS Exam.
- Candidates must give at least two hours daily for the current events about their state, nation and world at large and General Knowledge for this the can use any authorised yearbook and monthly magazine and a letest GK book.
- Candidates must read English newspapers, magazines and books so as to improve their vocabulary.
(b) HELPFUL TIPS :-
- Do revision of the social science of X standard every now and then. At least once a week focus on geography and history, economics, political science of class x standard. Make an extra effort to study the atlas as well as several question are asked can be answered only if you can visualize terrain and locate areas. You have to also focus on the basic principles of geography.
- You should study any authentic yearbook which covers general areas such as sports, international politics, popular books and authors. You could also use a current affairs monthly digest which will keep you updated and daily 2 hour study of GK will help you to clear the exam very much .
- As section on English is of 200 marks hence it matters a lot. With a There are a few areas in which you should work that are English usage, subject-verb relationship, tenses and prepositions synonyms, antonyms, grammar, error detection .
- The mathematics syllabus consists of Arithmetic, Mensuration, Algebra, Geometry, Trigonometry and Statistics. The questions are to test your conceptual understanding. While preparing for the exam, get your fundamental concepts very clear. Also learn speed solving techniques that will help you in solving about 120 questions in two hours. The questions paper covers the whole syllabus so never leave any one section. Solve as many as your can. Algebra and geometry are high scoring, if you get your basics clear. Time yourself and practisemodel papers as you will get only one minute to solve a question.
